Some of the fun activities Room 8 super learners did this week!

Kalolaine did some resarch around volcanoes in New Zealand, and found some interesting facts about them. Kodi coloured an interesting piece of art here! I think it definately speaks a thousand words..

This maths is By Habibah! I used multiplicative thinking strategy to solve this word problem

This week to end our challenging but rewarding year 2021 we celebrated with a trip out to the beautiful 'Parakai hot springs'

This week we celebrated the year 2021! It has been a challenging but rewarding year for each one of us.. We would like to thank our beautiful prinipal Mrs.Patea for rewarding us with a trip to Parakai and shouting us lunch! But most importantly for all the hard work she does for our kura, whanau and kaiakos, we are very thankful and grateful for her kindness towards us all. Thank you Glenbrae staff and whanau for all your support, perserverance and patiece during a challenging year.. 'He waka eke noa-We are in this together!' Love and light to you all, and have a very blessed, safe and Merry Christmas

This week Room 8 students were amped to be back in class! We spent our first few days connecting and checking in with our hauora which is an important part of uniting together.. Here are some ways in which we connected back at school this past week... We learnt about the zones of regulations and did some team activities based around them. Here is Katrinas writing to a character .. We played squid games on the senior courts
We celebrated our classroom online talent quest winners for Room 8 ! In class and online 1st place-Daniel (science & engineering) 2nd place- Kalo (Solo) 3rd place- Habibah (Duet)
We learnt how to 'Recognise the importance of noticing others and the benefits of being kind'. Here is a picture of our brainstormed ideas about what the benefits of being kind means to us
After listening and sharing about the story 'Tu meke Tuatara' we created our class mural together. Here are some photos of us
FINALLY here is our finished class art mural !
lets not forget our learners from home also! Check out Kalos pixel art piece she created and a short blurb she wrote:-) Kalo wrote: So the dog is stuck because the stick is blocking the dog and the dog is trying to ask for help and the cat is sad but the parrot is trying to cheer up cat but cat is still isn't happy so while they were walking they herd a dog barking for help so the cat ran to the dog and tried to move the stick.
